Tell us what you typed or tapped, what you expected and what happened instead. Say which device you play on and which version of the game you have (choose About Nether Wallop in the table of contents). A screenshot helps. We use what you send only to answer you.
Common questions
How do I play?
Type what to do. Double-tap anywhere on the page, or tap the > at the top, to open Take Action, then type a command such as “take flashlight”, “north” or “Oscar, follow me”. Suggestions appear as you type. Type “help” for the full list of commands.
What is free, and what does the unlock add?
The download is free, and Act One is free to play: the first three chapters, start to finish. Acts Two and Three unlock with one in-app purchase, The Five Bells - unlimited (US $6.99; each store shows the price where you live). You buy it once.
The story stopped at the end of Act One.
That is the act break. The story pauses there and offers The Five Bells - unlimited. Unlock it, and the story carries on from exactly where it stopped, with nothing replayed. Not ready yet? Your place is saved, and the unlock is there whenever you are: open the table of contents and choose UNLOCK THE FULL STORY (on Windows, also Help, then Upgrade to Unlimited…).
I bought the unlock. How do I get it back on a new device, or after reinstalling?
Sign in to the store with the same account you bought it with, then choose Restore Purchases. On iPhone, iPad, Mac and Android it is on the unlock sheet (table of contents, UNLOCK THE FULL STORY), and on the Mac it is also in the Nether Wallop menu; on Windows it is in the Help menu. The game also checks with the store when it starts, so it often finds the purchase by itself. On Apple devices one purchase covers your iPhone, iPad and Mac with the same Apple ID. A purchase stays with the store it was made in: one made on the App Store does not carry over to Google Play or the Microsoft Store.
Where is my progress saved?
On your device, inside the app. It is not kept online, so it does not follow you to another device. Deleting the app deletes its saves, and so does Factory Reset in the table of contents. Your purchase is not lost either way: it stays with your store account, and Restore Purchases brings it back.
The game says “This game has been updated.” What should I choose?
An update has changed the story. Continue my story carries on where you left off, with the story as it was when you began. Start a new story begins again with the changes: your progress in the current story is lost, and your purchase is kept.
The game did not understand what I typed.
Start typing and pick from the suggestions: they list what can be done in the scene. A command the game does not understand never moves the story on, so nothing is lost by trying.
Refunds.
Purchases are made through the stores, so refunds are too: Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com, Google through your Google Play order history, and Microsoft through your Microsoft account's order history.
Privacy.
